A number of reports have surfaced online that claim that Samsung Galaxy S10 will be the first smartphone from the South Korean technology giant to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, now a new report has emerged that says that Samsung’s first smartphone to sport an in-display fingerprint sensor will be the Galaxy A10 smartphone and not Galaxy S10 mobile. The leak originated in China and claims that Samsung is currently working on a Galaxy A-series smartphone, called Samsung Galaxy A10, which will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner and will be available in the upper mid-range price segment.

— 萌萌的电教 (@MMDDJ_) December 21, 2018 This information was given away in a tweet by a China-based tipster. However, he didn’t mention anything extra about the smartphone. But then, reports of Samsung Galaxy A10 being a higher end Galaxy A-series smartphone have also surfaced online previously. It was previously revealed by the same leakster that Samsung is working on a high-end Galaxy A smartphone that will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It is worth noticing that the two pieces of information are very much in-line with each other. So, we can expect Samsung Galaxy A10 smartphone may come with an in-display fingerprint scanner as well as be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor. Considering that Samsung Galaxy A8s is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, Snapdragon 845 SoC is a big upgrade. To recall, Samsung mobile’s chief DJ Koh had earlier said this year that the smartphone giant will be getting some premium features to its budget and mid-range mobile phones. So, like its rivals Huawei and OnePlus, Samsung may have finally decided to get features like an in-display fingerprint sensor and a powerful processor to its mid-range smartphones. Samsung’s A series have seen some remarkable additions this year including Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A9. While the former houses a triple rear camera setup, the latter is the world’s first smartphone to come with four rear cameras.
