The update that is being rolled out to the LG V40 ThinQ is a firmware over-the-air and has V405UA20A_02 as the version number. It is worth adding that this new software got the Android Pie to the smartphone along with the April security patch. As we mentioned earlier, operators like AT&T and Verizon have also started sending out the update. We should also specify that devices in South Korea are also getting a different firmware that has the version number V409NO20c. It also comes with the May 2019 Android security patch. To recall, LG V40 ThinQ was launched in January 2019 and held a price tag of Rs 49,990. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the smartphone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users will also get an option to add a microSD card of up to 2TB.

It is worth mentioning that the company has promised that it will be shipping the Android 9.0 Pie to the LG V40 ThinQ, V35 ThinQ, V30, and V30S ThinQ. This was reported back in April. But then, LG is slow in rolling out updates, as although the LG V40 ThinQ smartphone has started getting the update in the US and South Korea, there is no word about when it will start rolling out in India. If you own an LG V40 ThinQ, then we suggest that you remain patient about getting the update, considering that the company is not exactly known for its timely Android updates and security patches. Hopefully, LG will do the needful to change that. But then, since it has arrived in the United States and South Korea, it will sooner or later come to India too.
