According to a report from a South Korean daily, the Officials from LG’s smartphone division said that the phone they are planning to launch will be 5G enabled. The name of the phone will be LG V50 ThinQ 5G. And the company will also be launching an LTE-only flagship named LG G8 ThinQ. Both these phones will be launched at Barcelona at MWC. And this will be the first time the company will be unveiling two different flagships from two different series at the same time. The V50 ThinQ is reported to have a 6-inch display with a 4,000mAh battery powering it up. And the processing work will be handled by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, which is 2019 flagship processor from Qualcomm. It is also said that the phone will have a vapour chamber cooling system for more efficient heat management. But there is no mention of any wireless charging or any fast charging facility for the phone. Aside from this the company has confirmed all the details earlier this month.  The G8 ThinQ will also have somewhat similar specs, but the major difference will be their connectivity, one will be 5G enabled while the other will have LTE.

The reports says that the upcoming smartphone will have a new UI that will be optimized to support hand gestures for controlling music, playback and much more. But it is still not clear which feature will be made available for which smartphone. It might be possible that both the smartphones will support these features. Now talking about the market availability of these phones, V50 ThinQ will be launched in North America and Europe in March. Sprint will handle the telecom duties in the US and SK Telecom and KT will handle the telecom duties in Europe. And it might take a few weeks to months before these phones are launched in India. These flagships will be priced anywhere between Rs 83,000 and Rs 99,000. According to reports, the LG G8 ThinQ will be the last smartphone of LG’s G-series phones as the company plans to stop the production of the smartphones series. After the G-series ends the company is expected to start with high-end smartphones lineup. LG wishes to merge both the V-series and G-series of smartphones under one high-end smartphones category that will carry the V-series name.
