From November 3 onwards the users will require to do an iOS update so that they are able to use the GPS location service and other functions like correct date and time, including App Store, iCloud, email and web browsing. This is not only applicable to the iPhone 5 handsets but all the devices launched by the company in the year 2012 or before that includes iPhone 4, iPad Mini, iPad 2 and iPad 3 generation devices will also stop working if not updated. In its official statement, Apple said, “This is due to the GPS time rollover issue that began affecting GPS-enabled products from other manufacturers on April 6, 2019. Affected Apple devices were not impacted until just before 12:00 a.m. UTC on November 3, 2019.” In order to keep your device working the users need to back up and restore using a computer or Mac. The over-the-air software updates and iCloud Backup will stop working. After you finish updating the software to can check your device to be sure that it has been successfully updated. This can be done by opening the Settings app and then tap General and then tap About. Now check the updated software version number 10.3.4. Some are also saying this is a way of Apple keeping the hacks low and privacy settings up to date. This way users will have the latest layer of security with the fresh iOS and their data will be safe.
